One Picture, Tons of New Features Revealed

The Dead Space crowd are a very perceptive bunch. To say ‘eagle-eyed’ would be a terrible understatement. Allow me to explain: This picture was released by the Visceral Games team earlier this week:

And no real concrete details were given out, but it was hinted at that the pic contained a number of things to look out for. Vague as that may be, it seems a lot of eager Dead Space fans were able to crack a number of potential features. Here’s a few of the highlights from the Facebook comments page:

Isaac appears to be holding a weapon in his left hand – when he was in fact very much a right-handed chap in the original Dead Space. Ambidextrous? Perhaps. It’s much more likely that dual-wielding will indeed make an appearance in this game.
The Unitology text in the top right corner of the picture apparently translates into “Ignition”. Interesting…

A few people have even speculated that this image will in some way be revealed to be one of the mulitplayer modes.

Dead Space 2 Release Date

Straight to the point: Dead Space 2 will be released on January 25, 2011 in the United States and shortly after on January 28, 2011 for Europe.

To enter, all fans have to do is come up with some creative way for coolest Isaac to rip apart a necromorph. Entries can be text, audio, or video through the contest tab on The Dead Space 2 Facebook page, which went just went live on March 8. The entry period will last until March 26. The winner will be announced on April 20.
